Wegovy 2.4mg Flextouch is a prescription medication used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity for long-term weight management. It is indicated for adults and adolescents (12+) with obesity, and for adults with overweight who have at least one weight-related health condition. For adults with known cardiovascular disease and either obesity or overweight, it also helps reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events (cardiovascular death, non-fatal heart attack, or non-fatal stroke).
This injection contains semaglutide as its active ingredient, which works by mimicking a natural hormone called GLP-1, which helps regulate appetite and food intake. It activates the GLP-1 receptors in the brain that are involved in making you feel full, helping reduce hunger and calorie intake.
Wegovy 2.4mg Flextouch is administered once weekly, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without meals, by subcutaneous injection in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.
Wegovy 2.4mg Flextouch should not be used by people who have a personal or family history of a type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or a condition called Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
